Q. Why does it ask for the child's age when I register?
A. We may provide age specific content when a child logs in to The Airship. By providing us with the age of your child, we can make certain we provide appropriate material to the desired age groups.
Q. Do I need any other software?
A. No. The Airship does not require any additional software to function.
Q. Why is The Airship better?
A. The Airship is a complete desktop environment with a kid-friendly look and appeal. The Airship solution provides a safe, fun playscape for children with a skinnable interface, which allows the child to choose a look to fit their style. The Airship also provides the child with their own personal icon for login which means they cannot tamper with your private files and data. Our complete solution offers spam free e-mail, pop up suppression, ad blocking, web site blocking/filtering, scheduling, monitoring and is affordable for all families.
Q. Do I have to add all my children at one time?
A. No. You can add as many children as you like at the The Airship Admin SiteThe subscription price includes unlimited child accounts and one e-mail account.  Purchases can be made at any time by going to the The Airship Admin Website at http://www.myairship.net/manage and entering your login e-mail and password.
Q. Can I still browse the Internet normally?
A. Yes. After The Airship is installed you and your child(ren) will each have your own icon for log in. From the Windows Weclome Screen you can select your icon and use your computer just as you always have or your child can select their icon and be brought directly in to The Airship. Optionally, you can use the Windows XP Switch User Feature to switch between your account and your child's.
Q. How long does it take to download The Airship?
A. The Airship installation package is less than 2 megabytes and should take approximately 10 minutes with a 56k modem or 3 seconds with broadband or DSL. Once you run the setup after downloading, the install and configuration process takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.
Q. Can I install The Airship on more than one computer?
A. Yes. The trial version can be installed on as many systems as you like. Once purchased, The Airship is licensed per household for unlimited child accounts and one e-mail address. Additional child e-mail accounts can be purchased as needed.
Q. Can I search?
A. Yes. The Airship provides access to the Yahooligans search engine. Yahooligans provides the ability to search the topics among any of it's child approved web sites.
Q. Does The Airship provide easy access to custom web pages my child likes?
A. Yes. The Airship allows the parent to add favorites that appear right on the The Airship desktop for one-click access. Favorites can be added at the The Airship Admin site located at: http://www.myairship.net/manage.
Q. What is an Internet Address?
A. An Internet address or URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is made up of four parts as follows:
  • A protocol name or a set of rules and standards that enable computers to communicate with each other.
  • The location of the web site.
  • The name an organization would like the site to be identified by.
  • A suffix that identifies what type of organization owns the site. For example, .com for a commercial organization, .org for a non-profit organization, or .gov for a government organization.

com It is a commercial institution web site.

When The Airship navigates to a web site (or Internet Address) the URL is displayed in the top pane of the The Airship screen.
Q. Why is it only for Windows XP and Vista?
A. Windows XP and Vista provide many new exciting security enhancements, as well as, a private login icon for every individual in your home. The Airship exploits many of the Windows XP and Vista features.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. The Airship is offered for $59.95 for a 1 year subscription or $49.95 if purchased during the 30 day trial period.  The subscription includes unlimited child accounts and one child e-mail account. Additional child e-mail accounts can be purchased at any time for $14.95 at the The Airship Admin Site located at: http://www.myairship.net.
Q. How do I pay?
A. We accept Visa, Master card, Discover, PayPal and check or money order. All transactions are in U.S. funds. Please allow up to three weeks for checks to clear.

Q. What is the The Airship Admin Site?
A.

The Airship Admin Site is used by parents to purchase The Airship or create child accounts, view their child's online activity, modify features for their child, set reminders, schedule online usage time or manage child e-mail accounts.

Q. Can I create e-mail accounts for my children?
A. Yes. Each child can be assigned their own e-mail account at the The Airship Admin Site located at: http://www.myairship.net/manage. The e-mail address will be yourchildsemail@myairship.net. Optionally, you can use an existing e-mail account by setting the POP server settings provided by your ISP.
Q. Will my child be able to receive attachments?
A. You can optionally set whether or not your child can receive attachments at the The Airship Admin Site located at: http://www.myairship.net/manage.
Q. Will my child be able to receive any e-mail sent to them?
A. Your child will only be able to send to or receive e-mails from addresses you enter into their address book at the The Airship Admin Site located at: http://www.myairship.net/manage.
Q. How do I protect my login account?
A. Parents should protect their login account with a password. To set a password on your account click the Start menu, choose Control Panel and select the User Accounts icon.
